Good to see you back on the board.
 
It was for pre-lubing the engine.  As I recall it involves hanging something like an IV bag above the engine with oil.  A tube from the bag to the engine oil pressure port  if I recall correctly and let the oil slowly drain into the engine lubricating all bearings.
 
I suspect someone will give more detail
