Torsion bar size selection

I have .92” diameter Mopar Performance torsion bars coming tomorrow.  After talking to another wagon owner that is running .92 dia in his big block powered ’62 Savoy wagon.  Says it rides like a new car and he would not think twice about going .92 dia in my ’62 Dart wagon with the small block 318 Poly.  Had other recommendations from stock .88 on up to 1.00” for a “handler”.  Think I will be happy with the .92 dia - has to improve the under-sprung boat like ride she has now.

The PST kit should be here shortly after - this winter’s project will be to tackle my first Mopar front end rebuild.  Should be fun and educational.  ; )  The only possible thing left then would be to replace or rebuild the power steering box, if it even needs it.  (89,000 original miles on Granpa’s wagon).  Going to order Eaton Detroit rear springs next month.
