Re: : regulator

Basically this unit is in the full charge mode all the time, and will eventually toast your battery.  The logic is at the track your starting and stopping your engine depleting your battery, so every time it is running it is in full charge mod trying to keep your battery up.  Bottom line Not good for the street.

Subject: : regulator

the regulator taken off my 62 Plymouth gasser is a blue  P-3690732
I was trying to figure out which was hot terminal and which went to alternator.
On line chat rooms had various comments about this being for race only an Jeg's agrees.
I want to drive on street as well as strip.
Does anyone have experience with this regulator over charging and damaging the battery?
What is the stock equivalent for a 440 motor? Do I need one for strip and one for street?
Thanks for club advise.
