Re: OEM style seat covers?

oddly enough,,, years ago I picked up a set from JC Whitney,, yeah,, I know,,,, for a 63 Fury 2dr hdtp with the center armrest.  Hog ringed them myself, and they looked great for a long time.  Don't remember the company they came from though. Old age and CRS ya know.  Point is,, they are probably out there.
Bob's looked good !!!

Hi -

If you are on a budget and want a good-looking although not
necessarily OEM seat cover, the non-OEM seat covers sold by companies such
as Automotive Interiors and Accessories are a good alternative.  At least 15
years ago I purchased such a set for my 65 Bel, since sold, from a different
company but with the same product line.  You can choose the base and insert
colors, which I did to reasonably match the original door panel color
scheme.  The vinyl material and colors are universal so I was able to match
the boot cover exactly many years after I bought the seat covers.  Replacing
with OEM covers that have bolsters (most OEM bucket seats) often means that
new custom-made foam is required .  I didn't need to do this with the
aftermarket covers - I purchased standard foam and trimmed it as needed.
While the covers were not quite as good-looking as OEM, nobody but a Mopar
aficionado ever noticed they were not OEM.  I needed a lot of things on the
car at the time so I could not spend a fortune on OEM seat covers.  It was a
good decision for me.  A picture of the interior is attached.  You can see
how the door and seat inserts are pretty well matched in color and pleating.

Subject: OEM style seat covers?

Hi all,

A fellow asked me for suppliers of OEM style seat covers for his Mopar. I
know vendors have some with NOS fabric, but what about vendors selling more
generic seat covers for classic cars?

Here are the vendors listed on the 62-65 site:

* EZ Boy Interiors (now part of the LeBaron Bonney Company)

* Aftermarket seat covers, mostly plaid vinyl patterns, Ken in NY

* Automotive Interiors & Accessories, vendor in Mass.

Does anyone know of other vendors selling OEM style seat covers for 62-65
Moaprs? Bench seat style.

Thanks,
Gary H.
