Re: Daytona 500

I agree. What is out there now reminds me of the IROC series back in the seventies. BORING.......No more building the best car possible within the rules, now it's give everybody the same car. All the corporate sponsoring has eliminated small teams from entering with any chance of winning. Rolling billboards, hard to tell what make of car, and is seldom mentioned. So sad.

Saw an article a few days ago before the Daytona 500. J. Johnson's car was disqualified during inspection. seems his car was 1/10,000 of an inch too wide. They fixed it of course.NASCAR isn't about winning anymore. Everyone has to be the same. No competition here at all. I haven't watched since you could actually tell what make car they drove.

I have no interest in
NASCAR. But listening to
some of the people I know that follow it, it seems like it
has become more of a
personality driven thing. When I was a youngster and
did pay attention it
was all about the brand. The old race on sunday buy on
monday thing.
It may still be true for some but I suspect it has become
more soap opera for a
large slice of the viewers/

I want to put in a

rooting for David Gilliland, #38,

is a master

projects and is a
super nice guy. Back in the 80's he showed me
his Nascar 'coated'
pistons they were beginning to use. Yeah LeRoar has
coated
pistons.

  Just

putting in a plug for a good bunch of people that I can
relate to.
