RE: Wiper Arms

When we did the body on my ’62 Dart, I had one of those nuts separate from the arm. If memory serves correct, it simply had a flange on the bottom of the nut, that sits inside the domed portion of the wiper arm. In my case, I was able to force the nut back into place before re-assembly. I’m not sure that I would recommend doing so, though. I think the risk of damaging either the nut or the arm would be too high for me to want to risk… But if you’re desperate…

I suspect those nuts were inserted first, then the rest of the arm assembled, using the white metal mount and hinge rivet to hold it on place…

Does anyone know how to remove the mounting nut off a wiper arm to use on another arm? Is it pressed on permanently? So far I don’t see how it would come off and go back on.

Thanks,
