I thought I would run this past the group to get opinions if I am on the right track before I start changing parts.
My wiper switch has a circuit breaker. Power goes into the circuit breaker and out to a wire that jumps over to the wiper switch. There is also a white wire on the switch side of the circuit breaker that feeds the reverse lights.
The issue I am experiencing is that when I turn on the key, the circuit breaker goes through an endless cycle of tripping and resetting, making a noticeable flasher-like noise in the process. When doing so, the reverse lights flash. I ran some simple "tests" by disconnecting the reverse lights only, then reconnecting the reverse lights and disconnecting the wiper switch only, and I get the same result either way. That tells me I need to replace the circuit breaker (and the issue isn't a short in the wiper switch or the reverse lights circuit).
Has anyone else experienced this and does it also sound to you like a need a new circuit breaker for my wiper switch? If so, can I replace it with a universal circuit breaker or do I need to pay golden rates on ebay to someone who has a NOS unit out there?
