Re: 426 Max Wedge for my 63 Sport Fury

Eight sleeves sounds like an expensive proposition. Do you really need to sleeve any cylinder? I'd think you could find 30 over 426 pistons (Egge list $500 for 30 over 426W pistons)

Anyway, my 440 has two sleeved cylinders and works just fine.

I think a 426 is a 4.25 bore. Given that, you need to bore .070 to get to  the 440's 4.32. You could get it sonic tested to see if you can get away with it but everything I've heard says your asking too much.

Subject: 426 Max Wedge for my 63 Sport Fury

Aloha , my brothers from different mothers. So I picked up a 1963 426 wedge block . The motor had high mileage and the piston was floating. So, I have to bore the block . I'm trying to figure out if its better to sleeve it or bore and maybe stroke it. I did buy a set of 63 Max Wedge heads and cross ram intake for the block from another Mopar friend . Just weighing my options and hoping to get some feedback . Mahalo C
