Re: Replaced my Dart (Off Topic)

I made the mistake of getting a 1st year model Neon. Woe is me! Front end noises.Big thing was a/c freezing up in hot hot weather. Dumped it for low mileage Sebring LX. Great car. Trans went to hell on ex wife after I moved out and she called to ask what I was going to do. Make up your own answer!..

I took my 2014 Dart on it's first and last road trip.  We went to San Diego CA just to get away. We took the Dart as it had not really been anywhere and thought it would be good on gas.  It was good on gas, 38.4 MPG going down.  102 temps in CA along I-5 car was fine.  We didn't have any problems till we started back.  Somewhere before Fresno we stopped at a rest area, when we started the car back up, nasty burning transmission smell.  I was not amused.  We didn't find any leaks, but could smell it most of the time.  It was 102 degrees, we had just been doing 80-105 MPH on the freeway, but it had been find before.  I stopped at the dodge dealer in Sacramento.  They could smell the smell too, but could not find the cause.  No leaks, nothing too hot.  So we went on our way, thinking I will get it checked out at home.  We didn't get 30 miles from Sacramento when the A/C controls quit.  The fan was on, the A/C compressor was working, but the air stopped coming out of ANY of the vents.  I would not change no mater what button we pushed, so we stopped again, grabbed a bit to eat, cursing that car the whole time.  When we got back in it, the A/C system started working again....for most of the way home.  It acted up a few more times, so we would stop for 30-60 mins and it would work again.

Anyway all this annoyed me too much so I dumped the car at my local Chrysler dealer, found a 2014 300 loaded fairly well on sale for $19950.00 marked down from $33550.00  I couldn't say no, and bought it.  No more small cars, only boat for me.  I love my new 300.  It's just like our Charger, but with the small motor and the 8 speed auto.  But it gets up and go's just fine.  We were surprised it could keep up pretty good in a race with our R/T.  We are going to do some proper testing in the next week or two, I want to see just how good it can do.
