Re: Starter problems

"Does it do any damage to anything to drive with it bypassed?"  Only if you happen to start it in gear while sitting in the garage!  ;-)

I'm having starter problems.  The starter won't turn.  Sometimes I get a 'click', sometime nothing at all.  Dash lights all light and do what you'd expect.

- I had the battery checked at Pep Boys; they said it's good.  What should the voltage across the terminals be?
- I added a 'jump box' to the battery; no difference.  Also tried jumping with another car.
- Battery cables and connectors are all new and should be good.  Ground is a fresh new cable and should be good.
- Replaced starter relay.  No difference.
- Figured it had to be the starter itself.  I replaced it over the weekend and no difference.

Now I'm at a loss.  Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks.
