I think that Fiat-Chrysler blew it with that damn shifter they put with the 8 speed.  It's a floor shifter that you push the button in to move the lever but it's electronic, but feels like it's not, and it always goes back to center....test one out...you will hate it.  I'm forever putting it in the wrong gear, missing reverse, Drive, putting it in Neutral or Low or Park.  Everybody that drives my car hates the shifter, we are working on a way to modify it with the 5 speed gear shifter or the dial that is in the 200 or Durangos.  A push button panel would be an option, but the only one I can think of is ugly....out of an RTS transit bus.  It would do it...but it's really ugly.

That unfamiliarity may change as some of the new cars e.g., Lincoln, now offer pushbutton transmissions.

Fiat-Chrysler blew it big time by putting a rotary dial transmission shifter in the new 200 instead of reviving the Chrysler pushbutton transmission heritage.
