Re: Sound deadner and heat insulation



Not the bubble wrap inside...its like woven fiberglass. Don’t think it’s a sound thing at all, but sure keeps out road and engine heat.

Thanks Ollie, this is what my brother used on his T bird project. Looked to me like it would insulate well but maybe not so good for sound deadening?? Does this have like small bubble wrap inside?  If so , I'm thinking the bubbles might "pop"............................MO

This is what I use. Its actually metal building insulation, drape over the frame and screw on the tin. Its made in MO. Called Low E.
I have seen it for sale on the internet, marketed for vehicles.
 
It is really great for heat, I know that for sure, probably helps for sound too. Kept my 440 firewall cool inside. Glue it to the metal with contact cement.
Used it in my Rambler.

I have been trying to decide which product to use. Most that I find are primarily sound deadening.  Not much info on how they are with heat insulation. I would think that inside roof would require heat barrier. Also inside firewall.  What you all been using and your opinion of it?   I am wanting the best bang for the buck.  Thanks..............................MO
