Re: Expensive- hard to find parts you have obtained for your car

If you can find a place that chemically  strips all paint and rust , down to bare metal, then  coat the inside of your header bow, that should take care of any rust. Assuming that the chemical can get inside where you need it most..................................MO

Russell,

Are you going to, or have you, reproduced the header bow?  My brother has been looking for years also for one suitable to even use. He has not yet installed his top, fearing rust bleed from the rust inside the hollow bow where the screws holding the top against it allow water and eventually rust from the inside. He (we) even discussed finding someone to reproduce the bow from carbon fiber to eliminate the rust from within.

Let us know if you have reproduced it, and what the price might be

My 1962 dart convertible header seal retainer strip(steel) was badly rusted. The rubber header seal pushes into it.It is screwed to the top ,under front edge.
It is prone to rust because of its position(top of windscreen )
Scored it for $1k NOS .....I know it's a lot but I can now repop it for others.i'd say rare as hens teeth ,so I'm happy.
