Re: Tilt Steering Column

It's always seemed to me that modifying a MOPAR tilt column would just be more "true to your school" than buying an independent branded one. Everything I've read about Flaming River has been good, apparently they take personal interest in the quality of their stuff, so no knock on them. I think it's on the Borgeson site that I read that welding on a steering shaft was dangerous. I guess that's why their instructions for their steering shaft coupler say to drill and pin them instead. So, which is "better", modifying a MOPAR column or buying an "off brand" though probably at least as safe, modifying the shaft/coupler/steering box and also having to change the wiring connectors. Your car, your choices, YOUR money! Note: no "n" in Borgeson, though the hyperlink on the website goes to the right place.

No problem Nico, there's always too many things to do! Keep it on the "to do" list. :)

Thanks,

James before you buy the Ididit Column, take a look at a F body tilt column (Aspen etc), much cheaper. You will need a new double D extension to mate to your power steering box and column but they can be had quite easily. Gary H has been on me for awhile to finish my install but too many projects have stopped me at the preliminary set up but I believe it will work well. I think there may be a couple of pics on the 62-65 web site of the hook up from the fire wall. Just a thought.

That is, email your parts/car transactions and negotiations, as well as other personal messages, only to the intended recipient. Do not just press "reply" and send your email to everyone using the general '62-'65 Clubhouse public email address.
