My 63 Polara 500 convertible

The tale of my Polara convertible.  The car was destined for the scrapyard when I intervened. There was no front end or hood. I was able to secure the front half of a 63 Polara 4 door complete with 383 and transmission. The car does have an interior, two extra grilles and an extra deck lid. Doors however... I got the car without doors and struggled to find something, anything. I did locate a pair of 63 Fury convertible doors complete but the owner wanted 400 each and that is just too much money. I then managed to get two door shells from a 63 Polara convertible. Both were drivers side. One door had no inner door frame. Neither had any guts at all.
The car wound up going to a friends house where I was working off and on doing some Hot Rod work with him. He has a huge amount of room and told me to keep the car there, until I got to it. While we were sitting in his shop one day I started to look at his 1965 Dodge Coronet altered wheelbase car. I said, you know what, I would swear that sitting here looking up at your car that the doors look the same as the Polara. Nah, couldn't be. I said let me grab the drivers door off the Polara and see if it fits the Coronet. He said I will go you one better why not take the two full doors from my 65 Coronet 2 door  parts car and see if they will fit on the Polara. He had kept a lot of stuff from his parts car and had it all stored in his barn. We grabbed a passenger side door  and took it to the Polara. We placed the door up against the opening to see if it would fit and without realizing we pushed and it clicked right in place latching on the door catch. A prefect fit including body lines. Who knew that would work. My friend said I can have the doors for all the extra stuff I have done for him. This has me jazzed to do the car.
