Re: New radiator

Here is the information on the US Radiator

14 fins per inch (approximately)
rows on 3/8" centers (approximately)

My original radiator that was re-cored from 2-row to 3 row

10 fins per inch (approximately)
rows on 1/2" centers (approximately)

The difference is huge, the are less rows in the re-cored radiator and there are fewer fins.

I have close-up pictures of each core if anyone wants to see them but I did not want to put large pictures in the this post.

Dennis, I remember you telling us previously what the fin count is on your new radiator.  Could you please remind us what that number is.

Received last night and real happy with the quality.  Back ordered from Classic Industries on Dec 21st during one of their 20% off sales.  So a little over a month to get the back-order.  They honor the discount at the time the order was placed, and don’t charge your card until it ships.  Plan to order the floor pan the same way, when the time comes.

Go to and watch the 12 minute factory tour video, to see especially the copper radiator process.  At about 11 minutes in they discuss the aluminum cores.  I went with US Radiator because of the formed tanks - stock appearance with less welded seams - and American made to boot.  Most def going to add some bling under the hood.  ; )
