RE: Wiper arm and blade replacements

Hopefully when I do need new rubber will be able to just slide something you can get today in.  I did get NORS Anco SH180 arms which I really like, and Anco turtleback dead locker 16” blades.

Arms look like this:

Last time I just bought a modern wiper arm....I had to look for one...I don't remember what one it was, but it was 18" and I only needed 16" I then removed the blade from the mount and cut it to fit and put it on my Newport.  Wasn't too much trouble, just required a bit of monkeying around.

Thanks,

I have a set of these blades in my hand at the moment.  They will need to be modified to work.  I'll post pictures of them later today.

However I am now able to post pictures, no idea what the problem was before.

# 2360 is the end of my blade on the 63.  It is interesting that it can be easily taken apart.  However the end just has a hole in the arm, it needs a raised tit like in the next image.

# 2363 is the end of the Trico 51-250 arm.  Note that it has the raised tit that will lock into a blade.

# 2358 are my arms, the top one is off of my 64 Belvedere and the bottom off of my 63 SF.  I don't know if the one on the 63 is original but it takes a 15" blade instead of the normal 16" and it has a quick release for the blade.

# 2365 shows the Trico 52-250 on my 64.

The ANCO blades with the supplied adapter will fit on my arm on the 63 however the arm does not have the raised tit that is needed to lock the blade.  I'll post pictures when I have modified the blade and have it on the car.

Thanks

As any of you know the wiper blade refill for our cars is not available new and NOS does not work for a driver, great for a show car.

If anyone wants wiper blades for a driver there is still an option I found, it is the Trico 51-250 arm that will take standard blades.  The arm works well but does not look very nice.  It is a universal arm that will work on either side therefore it has a joint that will allow the blade to be turned as needed.  The arm length is also adjustable.

I just put a set on my 64 Belvedere that is just a driver.  The Trico 51-250 is out of production but is still available in parts houses.  The set I bought was from O'Reilly at less than $12.00 per arm.

If anyone wants pictures send me a personal message.  I tried to attach here but was not able to, maybe because of the operating system I use, Linux.
