National records are memorable events. 

We ultimately set six of them, We moved up to what was called Formula Stock where you could change the induction to a 2bbl (holley 500 cfm), a single quad (Hemi AFB), or dual quad (set of street Hemi AFB), to run in a different class. Ran them on an Edelbrock Street Tunnel Ram.  (Wish I still had those carbs. I'm sure they're worth a few dollars.) Sorry, Roland, the Formula stock records were set with a wedge (LA) 318 engine.

This was in our '65 Belvedere I.

It was a factory stock combo including the 2bbl. The tranny was even starting to slip.  Seem like the record we set was a 16.38 and we ran a best of 15.92.  Don't recall the mph.
