Thanks everyone. Upper hose is stock turned sideways a bit. But a straighter version would be clean.

As I was pouring in the first gallon of antifreeze last night, I realized I focused so much on the thermostat housing – that the thermostat itself was still sitting on the bench! O-ring style housing helped there right away – easy removal and re-install......

Here’s a pic of the Gates 19610 installed. It is more of a 90 than the OEM.

A cleaner install of the heater hose might be to use a 90 brass fitting and run the hose underneath the bypass hose. I believe LeRoar was or is like that.

For a 3/4” By-pass hose, 3/4” ID Gates 19610. Also you get two out of it – Roland posted this up a while back.

Been on vacation - Quite the trip – Grand Canyon – Bryce – Arches – Canyon lands etc - 3,700 miles – Sweet 80mph roads in Utah........ Set the cruise control for 85mph and make time, thanks to drivers that will actually stay to the right. Unlike our “oblivious left lane occupants” and 70mph roads in Washington state.

Now back to the Poly – Just about to add coolant and fire the rebuild for the first time......
