RE: How best to raise back end?

I can't tell you since they were in there when I bought that car.  I had bought some coil overs to put in the car but realized when my buddy and I were going to put them in that the car had them.  No leaking or anything, so we just left them in there.   And yeah, I think my car sits pretty much perfectly.  Here's some pics to show you.

I gotta say the coil overs on my 65 Polara give it a really nice stance and the ride is equally as nice.

I suggest  coil over shocks  because many times air shocks leak down. I do think air shocks ride better, but the new ones I have do leak and I can't find the source--tried the soapy water spray................................MO

All you guys that poo-poo air shocks....can you explain the difference between coil-over shocks holding the car up and and air shocks holding the car up? Both put the same "pressure" on the shock mount

I agree with Herb  100%--Do not do extended shackles.  Bach in the raised
rear days, guys would do the shackles route and  that would result in the
shocks being fully extended to the limit --next thing would be springs that
were straight or arched down.  If you have strong upper shock mount, the
adjustable spring over shocks  would probably work.
