Re: Dynomax Mufflers

Bill, exhaust preference us in the ear of the beholder and opinions vary. I spent months listening and asking at car events. Also listened to every on-line demo available. Finally bought a universal 2 1/2 " stainless system from Pypes. Has x- crossover and dumps built in. Bought their Race version mufflers vs the street models. Subdued but throaty at idle. Mellow at mid-throttle and raspy at wot. I'd buy them again and the price was right. Under the car for 5 years. Still look and sound great.

Just got exhaust done on the Coronet. He installed 2.5" pipe, Dynomax Super Turbo's #17733, and an X-pipe. Anyone had any experience with these mufflers? I'm pretty sure they are the one's TTI sells with their exhaust system kits. Anyway, I gotta say I'm NOT impressed. It's so quiet it sounds stock. My old 2" system with manifolds & cheap turbo mufflers sounded better. I don't know how the X-pipe plays into it (I've never had one on a car) but I'm ready to cut them off the car already and I only got them put on Wednesday.

Any thoughts or comments?
