Re: slant six trannies



 I had a 65 barracuda 273 formula s car with 904 and it was not ball and trunnion ,as well as my 65 coronet slant six with 904 and it was also  not ball and trunnion. To my memory it was also a bit of a different tranny with a largish ( 5 inch) diameter plate at the back end  with four or five holes that a drive shaft bolted to with cross and rollers in it. I remember this specifically as I had these u joints replaced at a driveline shop. I pulled the driveline and took it to them both cars also used the funky mechanical linkage to cable fed valve body. On the coronet i specifically remember  down on the column ( it was a column shift car) were typical mechanical arms coming out of column but instead of rods going to tranny, there were cables.

Hi all, remember me. I am trapped in "no-mopar" land, trying to find my way back. Anyhoo, I found a 65 dart 2dr hdtp slant six car that runs for 1200 bucks with a good title, and not in too bad of shape really. But the 904  tranny is bad. My question is  does the slant six have  the same bolt pattern as a LA block or is it unique. If its unique I am up the creek.
