Re: Poly heads page

Not only did the 1964 “Porcupine 396” emulate the Poly design but I heard from a Ford source that the designer of the 351 Cleveland head was influenced by looking at Chrysler’s Poly engine and realizing the power potential/advantages of a canted valve engine.
In the not too distant past (ie. 2000), the advent of more LA performance parts such as 4” Stroker crankshafts and such...breathed new life and power potential into the Poly for those who recognized the parts compatibility.  With advanced port work from Bruce and CNC ported heads from Gregg Hekimian we have even more venues for “High Performance” out of our Poly engines than ever before.

Bruce,

That would have been quite an engine to develop but it never went anywhere. But look at what GM did with there canted valve 396, in some small way it did continue on. Thanks to you as an builder and others like Bill R., Gary P. & Roland O. keeping the Poly alive with new ideas.

Speaking of the poly heads, why didn't Chrysler use this design on bigger engines?  Just something I've been wondering for a while now.

Hello all,

As a heads up: on 5-23-2016 I added a page on the 62-65 site about Poly heads, as described by 62-65 List member Bruce Toth.

http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/poly-318-head-work-toth-performance.html

Mopar Poly 318 head work ... Bruce writes from Toth Performance: A little update for all you Mopar Poly faithful, it has been a little over two years since Roland ...

Thanks,
