Subject: Brutus adventure on first regular show.

Drove about 60 miles to that show. never been to that one in the past.  Noticed Brutus was developing a slight miss.  Good little show-parked in the shade.  Lots of nice comments and questions. There were no "unfinished " or " project"  class so I was in 60-70 modified. .  Didn't expect it, but I did get a 2nd place trophy.  Took a different route home and followed another old car that was having issues. got him into the next town. Brutus miss was getting progressively worse and making louder  noises. I was sure that a cam lobe was wiping out.  Still had good oil pressure. Stopped to get some oil and ZDDP. Started up and no oil pressure with louder noises.  Called a friend to come get me and trailered to his shop.  took off valve cover and I have never seen or heard of this before.--- The rocker shaft was broken in two  where the hole for the rocker stand is drilled.  Pushrods  were down in the lifter galley, not bent , and no bent valves. lifter looked perfect.   Big sigh  of relief !!
I will attempt to attach pics. Interior is not finished. ..................................MO
