1960 Valiant was the odd ball with the Bendix brakes.  The 1960 Valiant has a list of parts that do not interchange with the later Valiants and Lancers. After 1961 the big change was the option of self-adjusting brakes in 1963.  But you can use the self-adjusting parts on the 1961-62 Lancers and Valiants. 

So, if you are having problems with getting parts for a 1961 Lancer, ask them to try a 1962 or 1963 Valiant. 

The Valiant and Lancer had flanged rear axles right from the start. 

The power brakes on a Valiant or Lancer has the power brake vacuum tank mounted on the firewall with the master cylinder attached to that.  No other vacuum tank on the car that I know of.
