RE: Master cylinder

When I first got my '65 Belvedere, the emergency brake cable was not connected. No big deal, I thought. Then one of the brake lines blew. No brakes. That taught me not only the importance of the emergency brakes (not just for parking) but of a dual chamber master cylinder.

Unless you are absolutely going for a 100 point show car, convert to a dual master cylinder. If you do a nice job and tell the judges your life is not worth that point or two, maybe they'll agree and not hit you up for the safety upgrade.

Subject: Master cylinder

Hi,

I'm thinking about to get a "Scarebird" disc brake conversation kit for the '64 Polara

Q: is it wise to use the single reservoir master cylinder?
Or should I consider a dual reservoir

ps, it's a manual brake system.

Thanks. Bert
