As a side note regarding package panels (or your favorite terminology for
said item) if you want to retain semblance of stock appearance and have killer
car stereo sound, you can remove the old worn package panel material and cut a
plywood/MDF replacement, cover it with speaker grille cloth and mount your
speakers to the metal package panel frame. The grille cloth “package
panel” will appear stock-like and your speakers are hidden. I used to do
this in High School when car stereo theft was common...now they just take the
whole car.

understanding and the terminology I’ve always heard. Was the rear deck lid
was the trunk lid, the package tray was the piece between the rear
window and the rear seat where speakers where commonly placed as well as
rear window defoggers I’ve never heard of a rear package tray but if
you ask for a new package tray from say legendary or someone like that,
that is what you will get. Call and ask for a rear deck and I suspect you
will get a trunk lid. Or we could throw some English at it and call it a
boot. Then call the hood a bonnet. Hahahahaha those silly brits and
their funny words. Any way that’s my opinion on the subject. Doesn’t
really matter as long as you get what you want.

have a 65 belvedere that was painted when I bought it. The I D tag was
attached to the door jam with 2 chrome shoulder screws. Does any one have a
photo that shows how this tag is attached and where I could get the correct
rivets to reattach it the way it should be? When I went to register it the DMV
checked really close to make sure it wasn't stolen. I had to take the rear
package tray out so they could check the number stamped there with the vin.
Every thing checked out but I would like to look lit it came from the factory.
