Re: What is the largest Rim and Trim size you can run on a Stock 62 Plymouth

My '62 Sport Fury has 235r60x15 on 15x7 up front and 265r60x15 on 15x7 in the rear. Why 15x7 with those 265's?  I started out with 8" wide but on corners the outer sidewall rubbed inside the wheel well. Keep in mind this is with the factory max wedge 7 leaf springs on both sides with are quite stiff and do have the car sitting up some in the rear. I simply didn't want to do any hammer surgery back there. When I bought the car from Roland back in 96 I think it was, it still had crudely radiused wheel openings from its drag and (apparently) street racing days with the owner before him; I had clean used quarters put on though.

Well on my 65 Polara I got 245/60/15 on the front and 255/60/15 on the rear.  The wheels are a factory aluminums from a 1980 ish New Yorker.  So I'm guessing the width is seven inches?
