Re: 62-65 Windshield replacement

I replaced the windshield in my 63 SF @ 6-7 years ago.  At the time they were not being re-popped, (I believe they are now).  I searched the internet for weeks and finally found two, one in TN, not tinted and one in MN, tinted.  Bought the one in MN, $300, $100 to ship it, $100 for the new gasket, and $100 to have it installed by the local shop.  No guarantee against breakage.  They did a nice job with the installation R&Ring the trim etc.  by the way 62 & 63  B bodies are different than 64 and newer.

Would appreciate some tips on windshield glass.........

When any of you have had the windshield replaced, do you simply have the local glass shop source it?

What brand glass is best?

What has it cost installed?

Can the average glass shop do it without messing up the stainless trim?

Any options or things to watch for on the OEM green tint - or the possible shade bar at top?

Is metro the best source for the rubber seal?

Also going to have the rear quarter windows reset.  There is only one manufacturer of the qtr glass seals I know of, PRP linked below.  But they show out of stock on the passenger side at the moment.......
