Strengthening the rear shock mounts isn't that difficult. I'm going to run air shocks so I needed to reinforce this area.  All I did was cut a section out and replaced it with 2x2 square tubing frame rail to frame rail.

Also, you don't need the "Z" or fancy cutting on subframe connectors.  I did mine with 2x3 tubing. The rear slides into the frame rail and the front welds to the torsion bar/trans crossmember. Nothing to it.
