Yes I've had issues with leaks in the past. I wouldn't use lock tight but the high temp white Permatex sealer is the right stuff. I also add a bit of the black soft set Permatex aviation sealer on the tip ahead of the white Permatex. I haven't had any repeat leaks since I adopted that procedure.

Permatex sealer is probably fine. Lock Tight may make it harder to remove should that need arise in the future.
