Re: Three questions Fuel Injection

I fuel injected the 413 in my Polara ten or twelve years ago. I grafted the popular system from the 87-93 5.0 Mustang, including running a fuel return. I've heard good things about FAST EFI. The fuel system isn't a big deal; I'm still using the factory tank and sending unit.

The FiTech system looks really nice but the question I have with it and other systems is the fuel return line.

The sump system with the sump under the hood sounds nice but it does take up space and will not look like it  belongs in the engine compartment of my car.  It also requires a vent line for venting and overflow in the event of a problem with the level control of the unit.  From what I read they recommend running the vent back to the fuel tank fill pipe.  It seems that if I should run a line back to the tank area why use the sump?

The second part is installing a high pressure fuel pump near or in the fuel tank.  It seems an external pump would be the easiest but a return line still must be ran back to the tank.  It seems that at additional cost it might be simple to get a new tank and install an in-tank fuel pump with a return connection.

I'm very interested hearing the progress reports from anyone who installs fuel injection in one of our cars.

Thanks for the discussion.  I've been collecting parts and this summer I hope to get my poly to a machine shop and start a stroked but not too radical of a build.

Thanks

Look at FI Tech (Fuel Injection Technologies) All the information is there including instructions. Very good reviews.
Hot Rod used it on a 383 Mopar drag car and wrote an article.

We are going to install a kit on a '69 Roadrunner probably in April after the snow stops. And plan to install them on a Max Wedge later in the season.  Spoke with tech support at FI Tech and they indicated they have installed them on a Max Wedge and work fine.

I've been seriously considering the Holley Sniper setup. I like the fact that it's completely self contained and clean. Just need to round up the $1,250 first!

Hey guys.  Just wondering if any of you have made the move to EFI on your cars yet?  If so, which system did you go with?  And was it worth it?

Thanks
