RE: new brakes



Really smooth and quiet.

 

Like much better than the ’73-’76 A-Body disc brakes I tried first.  The brake pads on the Mopar spindles clicked all the time – who designs brakes with rubber-bands to stop pad movement.

 

I thought the front also were grabbing.  But after the Wilwood upgrade I realized the rear drums, although removable new ’65 drums – were the culprit.  Must have been from driving with the parking brake applied – then parked and some brake show material transferred to the drums.  Had the drums turned at NAPA to get a nice cross-hatch pattern – that cured the grabbing.

Thanks, no right now have a set of Cordoba front disc on it looking to upgrade them  , got a heck of a deal on the rears couldn't pass up on ,guy wanted 250 for the package with a set of green bearing thrown in , how do you like the front ones on your 62? thanks vic

Package sure took a beating didn’t it.  Do you already have Wilwood on the front?  Nice that they make kits specific to our old Mopars.........  Running the Wilwood front kit on my ’62..........  Be sure and “bed” them in per the instructions........
