Re: Please help search

Going thru the inner fenders , with a tight bend was a problem for me. I solved it with a special close bend aluminum clothes dryer vent fitting.  I used two 90 degree fittings on each side of the inner fender . One fitting inside the other one. The ends that the hose or pipe fits on , swivels . I can go to the store and get brand name and part number if you need it.
I put a 1964 Ford Thunderbolt  fresh air induction hood bubble on mine.  With the Edelbrock RPM Performer intake ( which is tall)  a flat base  for the Spectre air cleaner  which was offset to center  in the hood on  the offset engine ( to make the Holley carb  more accessable for adjustments) and a 1" carb spacer, It was above the hood.  Spectre has a drop base air cleaner that should fit under a stock hood.  I  recently  exchanged the 1' plastic carb spacer for a 1/2" phenolic to gain a little more hood hole clearance.  I can take some pics and post them If you want to see my set up. ......................MO

I'm thinking I can pop thru the inner fenders (battery in trunk) and source air from below the bumper. In doing so I want to keep added weight to a minimum. I hope to use an air box from Spectre with their hose routed to their aluminum flanged adapters. My issues may be hood clearance and suitable materials for the under fender components. How much hood clearance do you have with your setup?
I need to mount the fenders and hood for a measurement.

Steve,
I'm looking for a source for 4" aluminum tubing and fittings for my fresh air intake also. I've found some but it is too heavy a gauge for my needs. Great minds do think alike!
