The trunk lock cylinder broke on my 1965 Coronet.
I just bought a replacement kit that comes with the cylinder, keys, retainer clip, and several various lengths of engagement rods.
I am guessing it is an easy fix but would appreciate any tips before I start as I value others experience.

I just did this yesterday on my '64...

If the trunk isn't already open, you'll have to remove the rear seat and divider, and crawl into the trunk.  The same slot that the lock engages to open the latch can be seen from this side, and you can open the latch by turning it with a screwdriver.

Underneath the lip of the trunk lid, there should be a little hole so you can see the back side of the lock.  Remove the retainer clip with a needle-nosed pliers and the lock should come right out.  Pop the new lock back in the hole and put the retainer clip back on.  It's pretty simple.

Before you close the lid, test that it's working.  You can push on the finger of the latch and make it lock, and turn the key and see that it unlatches.
