Re: Replacement Heat Riser Springs

Sounds interesting, Gary. Could I trouble you for a couple of photos of your manifolds?

thx

Dan,

I have a set of pristine OEM exhaust manifolds with a working heat riser; date coded for a 1969 small block #2951916.  If you or anyone is interested they will go cheap...$35 for the pair plus shpg.  Rare to find a nice set with a perfectly operational heat riser.
They should go to someone wanting the OEM look for nice driver or restoration.

Thank you,
Gary P.

Subject: Replacement Heat Riser Springs

Does anyone know a source for heat riser springs?
Specifically, the spiral wound ones on most sixties Mopars.

There's a fellow on eBay who sells a repro spring (original p/n 2843685) which he says is for hemi exhaust manifolds.
He wants $39.95 plus shipping. Wouldn't this be the same p/n for A, LA, B, RB engines?

Absent a cheaper source, couldn't one wind their own spring? My calipers say the springs are 1/4 inch wide and .020 thick.
What sort of spring steel were these made of?

My immediate application is the exhaust manifold on a 1964-5 Dodge 273 V8.
