can't hurt to try your theory...my neighbor uses that stuff all the time, he loves it! 
he even plugged the crack in is (bottom) of his john-boat..still holding 5 years later...JB, he loves it!

I ordered a 67 master yesterday from Rock Auto >$21.00. I already had bought a rebuild kit for the cylinder but, honing did not clean it up so I was thinking about filling the pits with JB Weld or actual weld/braze but, decided for the cost to go new dual cylinder.
The safety issue is a long shot in a properly maintained hydraulic system, in my opinion.

If you every lose a brake line with the single cylinder MC, and I have, you've got no brakes. I've taken the position that originality be damned over this minor change in the name of safety.
