Re: Poly block now decked!

Steve & Bill,

Yes, NItto Drag Radials are a real deal for sure.  Unfortunately, my Plymouth wheel wells are restrictive and I currently have the “no hope of traction” Mickey Thompson 235/60-15” Drag Radials on there now.
A full 8.5 x 26 x 15” Drag Slick is going to spin into smokey goo as well.  My slightly warmed over 340 Dart smokes the Drag Radials and the Poly will have much more power.

I wish I could fit the smallest Nitto in my wheel wells; it is not the leaf springs that restrict, it is the frame of my ‘56 Plymouth that restrict tire width...once I get it on the road, I may check out notching the frame and mini-tubs but we shall see.

I suggest Nitto street drag radials. At 30 psi, they get plenty enough traction to break stuff. Ask me how I know !! And they are priced very reasonably  from Summit........................MO

Gary,

I'll second the traction issue. One quick stab of the loud pedal and my 275/60/15's spin instantly!

I was thinking of getting some "pie crust" Firestone drag tires from Coker, but 2 tires and new steel wheels would be ~$1,000. Little rich for me right now.

I wish I had more wheel well to fit larger/stickier tires; I know “traction” will be an issue.

The surprise comes the first time you push down the go pedal.
