Re: Disc Brake conversion question.

I wonder if they are any different to the ones sold on Australian Valiants from 1971 onwards?

These cars had vented discs with the 5 on 4½" stud pattern right through, bigger wheel bearings than the earlier cars too. Though the wheel studs were 7/16" and not ½". Because of the different market here disc brakes were almost across the board from that time, very few cars came with drums.

Thanks for that ebay link! I have been pricing parts for my '64 Dart and it's nice to see a spindle with the dust shield.

For those of us with early A bodies, we can use this same spindle without getting a different upper control arm by using a ball joint adapter from Dr. Diff - http://www.doctordiff.com/a-body-upper-ball-joint-tapered-adapter.html

Also, this article gives really great detail on converting to a dual master cylinder: https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/ams/how-to-dual-brake-circuit-system-install-on-early-a-body.136/
