Wonder why the push button plate is so far off center, something smells fishy?

Hemmings Find of the Day – 1964 Plymouth Fury convertible

From the seller’s description:

A very solid 1964 Plymouth Fury convertible with a no rust, no hit body. The paint is very presentable with a few “door chips” that have been touched up with a brush. The bumpers, grill, and body trim are excellent with the exception of a couple of small dents in the side trim. The interior is very good showing only some wear on the driver seat back piping. The door panels have had aftermarket speakers installed at some point and the grills are still there but the speakers have been removed. The carpet was replaced prior to my ownership and appears new. The convertible top as well as the top motor and pump were replaced about 2 years ago and operate perfectly. The car is equipped with the 318 “poly” engine and pushbutton Torquflite transmission. Both operate perfectly and the engine uses no oil between changes. Factory installed options include power brakes, power steering, power windows, power front seat, remote mirror, and bumper guards. The Chrysler “Cool Air” dealer installed a/c is not currently in the car but was working when I removed it and I have all parts to re install. The documentation I have includes the original owner’s manual for the car and the “Cool Air” system, the original delivery certificate, “Certicard”, and a receipt for a registration renewal that indicates the original Stockton Ca. owner kept the car for 40 years. The only modification to the car are the 15″ aftermarket wheels. The odometer is functional and I believe, but can’t prove, the approximatly 43000 indicated are actual. It drives very well and I would not hesitate to embark on a cross country road trip with it.
