Re: Bulkhead connector

Paul,

You can replace individual connectors in the bulkhead connector.  Do a Google search and you will find the terminals.  You will need the tool to release the terminals from the connector body.  There seems to be some variations in the terminals try to find the correct ones for your connector.  Here are some examples:

All of the cleaners are good but I like Deoxit the best.

You can run wires through the connector as mentioned, you can do all of them or just the ones you are having a problem with and not get into a full rewire.

If you want my take on saving the bulkhead from failure look at my recent post referencing replacing an alternator with a larger alternator.  You can do some simple wiring changes without even cutting your wires to take a lot of the load off of the bulkhead connector.

Wondering if anyone has come up with a good fix for our old bulkhead connectors without doing a complete re-wire?  I have taken mine apart and done a little work with sandpaper and scraping + contact cleaner and I still have issues now and then, especially on the starting circuit.
Re-wiring the engine bay at least is on my bucket list, but not right now.
