Get the correct intake gaskets for your performer rpm and line them up on the max wedge heads with couple of bolts I’d say you’ll be able to tell. The rpm does have pretty big ports although not that big of course. Someone may have the dimensions handy and can say for sure though. 

They did make a single four for the max wedge heads for nascar use before fielding the race hemi. At one time they weren’t too pricey or rare so I picked one up for the exact reason you mentioned...seemed like a safer break-in option. I have no idea how easy it is to find one now though.
