Re: Electrical connector disconnect tools

I redid the wiring harness in my 64 440. I took the one from my parts car and blended with my project car to get one without splices. Took me a month! I used something to get those connectors out that worked that I came up with. Get a simple wooden ruler like we used in school. Make sure it has a metal edge on one side and remove that metal guide. I folded it in half for better grip. It slides into the connector space just like a mini screwdriver but since it's entirely flat it works better than the tapered mini screwdriver. Ruth

I use those pliers on my MSD connectors. They fold the connectors rather than crushing them. The connectors are not the normal stuff you grab at the local auto parts store. They are more like what you see from the factory - even our 62-65's.

There are several tools available online
Do some research to find out which one is for the Auto connectors you’re trying to take apart,, a lot of them are for the miniature modern connectors, go to Napa‘s website is your best bet.
