Re: dynamat and carpeting

What about the rcubber mats used under throw rugs etc.  At least you'd be able get the carpet up later without tearing up the dynamat.  I used rolls of duct insulation, a cheaper alternative to dynamat.  And i didn't have any trouble with the carpet.  However it was not new and had been installed for several years.

The spray is just enough tack to hold the carpet.  I was installing carpeting in a TR-6 just yesterday, and it consists of over a dozen or so small oddly-shaped carpet pieces to cover the transmission hump (5 pieces) , 2 for each floor board, 2 for the rear deck, 2 for the door kick panel, etc, etc.  Real pain in the butt.  No way to hold it without adhesive.  The original even has vinyl glued to the wheel wells as well as the floors and deck.  Mopars are easy...

Or maybe just spray adhesive?  I have used the rubberized undercoating too, but the spray adhesive seems the most easy and reliable to hold the carpet....  Gorilla Glue spray adhesive is especially good.

Subject: dynamat and carpeting

Hi folks. Kind of a weird question. I dynamatted the whole inside of the cuda. I trial fitted the carpet kit and it seems like the foil surface of the dynamat is too slippery and the carpet will just slide on it. I thought of spraying a light coat of rubberized undercoating on the dynamat to help grip the carpeting.  Anybody ever done this? or am I just being weird.
