Print prep for steel parts

I'd like to get some advice on prepping some steel parts for paint. The springs in the linked album are new, the other parts are media cleaned.

The new steel springs: how to prep them for black chassis paint?

The media cleaned parts: I washed them and scrubbed them with hot water and strong detergent after blasting, dried them with compressed air and used POR 15- Metal Prep on them. I did not wash it off. I will use a black semigloss undercoat paint on the springs and some of the media blasted parts, not the speaker grill. It will be painted red.

Thanks for any tips! /Butch
