I'm facing the same dilemna on my '57. I was planning to have the grille re-anodized. I saw an article in a recent Hot Rod magazine which talked about this outfit in California that did a wonderful job restoring an aluminum grille from a '63 Falcon. Their webpage is at anobrite.com.
