During normal driving conditions, do you really see a benefit of the Sure-Grip rear end? Does it help or hurt in slick conditions? If you're looking at a rear-end on a junk car, how can you immediately determine whether it is a Sure Grip? As for the '67 Imperial in the nearby junkyard, I believe it is identical to the same-year Chrysler. I believe Imperials became C-bodies in '67. Before then, I think they were called Y-bodies, or something like that..
