Thanks Daven! You gave me some food for thought. Am positive the 318 in there is definately original..also forgot to mention it is actually a 3 speed w/OD. I will go with the spacer mod. and keep the orig. engine. Coincidentally, after the tranny swap, was gonna save $$$ and have the engine rebuilt, so I will hunt around for some HP parts as well!
