Let's see if I understand this.........if I take a rebuildable mid 1960s Poly 318 (the neighbor is offering to me), I can make it work with a 1959 transmission, clutch, flywheel & bellhousing by tossing the post '62 crank and swapping an earlier eight hole crank. Can this be done? Would the rods be the same? Too bad the older Poly crank couldn't be installed in a "LA" 318. That would make mating a later 318 to an Exner Era drive train a snap.
