Actually this is a very good movie for a first-time director! Dennis Weaver is driving a red slant-6 Valiant. A trucker chases him cross-country. Speilberg had the Valiant lose a radiator hose to pick up the tension (and to provide a logical excuse for the car not outrunning the truck on the uphill grades in the mountains). The tanker truck crashing off of the cliff in the end was a pretty good stunt for a first-time director's movie. Sharp eyes will catch the driver's door on the rig open just before the cliff, because the stunt driver had to bail out!
